about

‘Live at OzManouche’ is dedicated to the memory of Jon Delaney, and is La Mauvaise Réputation’s first album since the loss of their founding member and lead guitarist.

The album was recorded live at the Brisbane Jazz Club for the OzManouche Festival in November 2022 and features Paul Gillett (vocals, rhythm guitar), Salvatore Greco (accordion) and Enzo Ruberto (double bass) with Adam Russo on lead guitar and special guest, guitarist Cameron Jones on track 7.

The album features French chanson, jazz manouche standards, a few English language songs, an Italian classic, and two compositions by Jon Delaney: ‘Ballad for Sal’ and ‘Jon’s Bolero’. On that latter track, festival director Cameron Jones shares his personal memories of playing with Jon, and joins the band as guest guitarist.

The band would like to thank Richard Hamernik, Radio 4EB, sound engineer Mark Smith and the Brisbane Jazz Club.

La Mauvaise Reputation Melbourne, Australia

French gypsy swing virtuosos La Mauvaise Réputation are Australia’s most authentic interpreters of the wild rhythms and passion of 1930s Parisian hot jazz and the beautiful melodies of classic French chanson - sung en français, bien sûr.
